Iron Mountain Sporting Clays, Kodak TN

Their promise is simple. Iron Mountain plans on being the premier destination for sporting clays, super sporting and 5-stand in the East Tennessee region. The owners and staff are clay shooting veterans who know how to make courses fun. Iron Mountain incorporates the best aspects of courses from the owners shooting experiences across the country. 

Each station uses the natural setting of the foothills of the Smokies to create challenging, but breakable targets.

This is a course like no other. Paved paths, so access for everyone. You shoot up hills, across fields, into trees and along the ground. All presentations that have a bit of a twist and make you smile. So enjoyable this has become one of our favorites – and our customers too!

Primland Resort, Meadows of Dan VA

Named by Esquire magazine as one of the nation’s top 25 courses, Primland Resort invites you to take aim at the sporting life as you test your skills in our mile-long sporting clay course. Groups or novices can enjoy a day outdoors learning about shooting across 14 stations with a variety of clay targets. 

Progressing through 14 stations over a mile-long course, participants are presented with a variety of clay targets. Face flushing clay targets that zip in and out of the trees. Challenge your skills at the “duck decoy” station where incoming targets float in towards you. At their “rabbit” station, targets are thrown end-over-end and skitter across the ground.

Five-stand incorporates the best of skeet, trap, and sporting clays into a field game that is fun and challenging. During this 25-shot round, each participant attempts five targets from each of five stations which provide a different perspective.

Sandanona, Orvis Millbrook NY

The Hudson Valley in New York is, simply put – breathtaking! Villages, like Millbrook, are centuries old with history, architecture, great shopping and open space for phenomenal shooting. Orvis Sandanona Shooting Grounds sits amongst the rolling hills and wineries of Millbrook. 

During your 2-Day Retreat you will be coached by world-renowned instructors, enjoy the variety, beauty and challenge of both the Upland and Woodland Courses, partake in a side game or three, have a professional 1×1 gun fit and enjoy the competition of a friendly tournament. Days will be capped off by a bourbon tasting, by Taconic Distilleries, one night and a wine tasting, by Millbrook Wineries, the second night. All meals will be prepared with local farm-to-table ingredients and an open bar will be available to quench your thirst buds. At the end of each day your gun will be professionally cleaned and given back to you ready for the next day’s events.

Have a friend or partner that wants to join you on the trip and enjoy meals with the group but not shoot all day. Please bring them. We’d love for them to join us for our tastings and delicious dinners. Everyone who partakes in the tastings goes home with a bottle of bourbon and Glencairn whisky glass and/or a bottle of wine and a custom wine glass. All included.

 

 

Bluefield Shooting Club Round O, SC

Located between Charleston and Beaufort South Carolina this low country course is a hidden gem. Time slows down as you turn the corner to find station 1. Beautiful large oaks drip of moss, paths are covered in white, fine sand and towards the back of the course black cows watch as you break targets. 

The presentations are challenging but hitable so it’s a great course for all skill levels. They have a five-stand as well as their Sporting Clays course.

When you’re done shooting enjoy the afternoon in Charleston, or better yet Beaufort. Then join us at a local oyster roast where you eat as many oysters as you can, enjoy cold beverages and listen to live music. 

Truly the best South Carolina has to offer for Sporting Clays and  local entertainment.
